Take An Emotional Enema

10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13Then will I teach
transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Psalm 51:10-13

Today when we are living in a world where churches are filled and so many profess to be saved, we are also encountering a church filled with hurting people. Yes those that are saved and in church are hurting, broken, they have shaken, battered and bruised by life. They come Sunday after Sunday praying today is the day I can leave this here. Today I will find that I am not alone in my struggle. Today I can take off this mask and leave it here. Today I want you to take inventory and then take an emotional enema. Yes, cleanse yourself of the toxins of hurt, of struggle with addictions, porngrophy, feeling of inadequecies. Purge yourself of unforgiveness, and hurt. Today, ask God to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you. It's okay to cry if that is what your enema causes you to do, it's okay to laugh, but get it out. Take the enema and let the love of God and the Holy Spirit move. When you are done you will feel lighter, you can go from Glory to Glory with no burdens. Remember God said we could cast our cares on Him. So why hold onto something that He wants to release you from. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy.

For years, I have always said that I don't care what people think about me and say about me and to some extent that is true, but on so many levels it's not. I found recently in taking inventory of my life that it did matter what some thought and how they perceived me. This is something I am releasing. I carry myself with authority because God said I could if someone thinks I think to highly of myself it's their issue not mine. I often hear people say if I don't think I am beautiful who will and that is true. People give you back what you give them. So please today take that enema, get rid of the junk, confess to God and say here now you take it and I don't want it back.

Then when you are ready help someone else to take that same enema so that they can know that GOD is real that He is Love and He cares about everything that concerns each of us. Get your joy back, unclutter your emotions and heart, it can make the difference in living and dying. It can make the difference in your tomorrow and how you impact others.

Take the enema and live from this point on like you already have what you are believing God for. If you are believing for financial relief live like your bank account is overflowing. If you are believing God for restoration of relationships live like that is done. If you are single and believing Gof for a spouse live and get your home in order like one will come home to you this evening. Now on that one don't just go get one, because God already has one ready for you. If you are believing God for a job, pick out the outfit you are wearing to work. Yes, taking this enema is going to make all of your tomorrows greater.

Sometimes

Sometimes we doubt ourselves, and question our worth. Know that God knew you before He you were formed in your mother's womb. Don't allow negative thoughts and feelings to help you be your own worst enemy. Always remember there is power in the tongue life and death lie there too. So sometimes when you feel like you are not quite measuring up, remember that God knew about this day and this moment before the world was created. Surrender the negative thoughts, bind the enemy and send him fleeing. Don't give him credit for what you yourself are doing. He is not God and he can't be everywhere at the same time so if I am having trouble over here saying the devil did it, remember if he is here causing trouble at my house he can't be at yours too, so one of us needs to take inventory and call it what it really is our thoughts, our actions and reactions and that's just the short of it.

God

I have few words this morning, but I believe that they are powerful.

He is that kind of God, but most importantly God IS, now you make it personal.

I'm Being Me

In your mind, I am arrogant and you may even say a snob,
Well think what you will I am being me.
God knew me before He formed me,
So your validation is not needed because I have His affirmation,
Think whatever you want I am being me.
Yes, I walk with my head held high,
I carry a smile and great deal of pride,
because the fruit I bared represent me well,
I am the biggest part of them and they are the biggest part of me
You be you, because I am being me.
I am not broken, not bitter, not plotting or letting you live in my head rent free
I just don't have time for your insecurities I am too busy being me.
I am blessed, highly favored, anointed, appointed and all that.
I am God's child and that's not debatable it's a well known fact.
Nothing you say or do can hurt me, can shake me, break me or make me.
I am to busy loving on the one that loves me unconditionally and being the best me.
I am not breaking down, because I am at my breakthrough, and that will arrive in spite of them, us or you.
It is my destiny and purpose to be me.
So if you call and I don't answer, don't take it personal.
I am just somewhere doing what I should have done a long time ago and that is
I am somewhere being me.

How Do You Give

In this day and time where we feel as if how much money we have what designer label we are able to tote or wear validates who we are is sad. Of course if you are carrying a coach or prada bag then your offering in church should be just as off the chain, but what is in it your heart when you give it? We love to say that God knows our heart, well the truth is He does and sometimes we have justified ourselves so much that we believe our intentions and hearts are pure. But God may look and say differently. A lot of people think their works are enough but God is actually looking for the pure in heart.

How can you give with a heart that doesn't love, a heart that won't forgive? Is that acceptable to the Father? You are willing to justify not speaking to your loved ones, or people you work with or go to church or school with, but you can speak and hold conversation with complete strangers, you are willing to give them a chance at salvation but not those you see daily those with whom you know personally. God convicted me of this very thing. So now that I know better I do better, I give better because GOD wants not one to perish and how and what you give to others and to God should be given with a pure heart. Not seeking accolades and titles. The only TITLE that means anything anyway when it's all said and done is SERVANT.

Dr. Tony Evans
In His Presence: Mark 8:36
Jesus not only closely watched people give their offerings, He watched them critically. He went beyond their visible actions and looked into their hearts. Jesus called His disciples over and said: "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury" (Mark 12:43). He didn't want them to miss seeing the heart of the widow, or to miss the lesson that her giving provided.

Most of us would miss watching the widow. Instead, we would be watching the bigwigs in the temple, the ones who made large offerings from their ample funds. We would be impressed by how much they gave. We might even suggest honoring them for their giving, maybe naming a building after the donor. But Jesus didn't call the disciples over to see the big givers. He called them over to notice a poor widow who gave less than a penny.

Why did Jesus fix His attention on the widow? Because she gave more. "She, out of her poverty, put in all she owned" (v. 44), while the rich men gave out of their surplus. The rich gave what they had left over. This woman didn't have anything extra; she gave everything she had. Jesus knew this, and He saw her heart. God measures our gift not by its amount, but by our motive. A godly steward will give with the motivation to honor God rather than just to tip Him with what he has left over after the bills are paid.

One Minute Please
God is not only interested in what you give; He also wants to know why you give it.

I Have Arrived or Have I

3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3

This has been in my heart to write for a few days and as always something comes along that pressures you well propels you into doing a thing. A few conversations I have had in the past weeks and days was my pressure. As today begins lenten season many have debated about the proper way in which to do it and what God will and won't accept. Well I say this, God honors your praise, worship and fasting when done with a sincere and pure heart (see Joel 2:12) is what He says according to His word. You see so many of us who profess to be called to this ministry thing I have noticed are doing just what the unsaved among us do. We take a scripture and we take it as justification to support what we want to get people to believe. You see just when we forget where we came from thinking we have arrived and are able to say what God will and won't accept from people I am reminded of the above verse. We need not get too comfortable thinking that we have made it because we can read and quote scripture in Revelation it tells us that Satan goes to God night and day making accusations against us. Also read Job 1:6-12. Some of us only speak to God once a day, the rest of the day we are telling others what God said or we said God said in truth, I don't see to many times in my Bible where God is actually speaking. Another thing that makes me grounded and remember that though I am not where I used to be, but to say I have arrived would be foolish is that God can use whom and what He likes to save a person, even something as minuet as giving up a coke, candy bar as a way of saying God this is my sacrifice to you, doing it with prayer and supplication making their request known. Yes, I believe that God will accept it, will it always do no, because the closer we get the more we know the more effective and personal our prayer life should become.

Another thing that I have been thinking on is we that have arrived or think we have want to tell people how good God is, well they know that can we tell them about some of the sacrifices He made some of them that were made prior to the cross, for instance Jesus served daily, He had no place to call His own. Jesus washed feet, Jesus sat amongst the sinners and no He didn't save everybody but it wasn't because He didn't try it's because they didn't accept salvation. He forgave everybody, & He fed the hungry. He didn't tell the thief on the cross in his dieing hour asking him to remember that's not enough, He told Him that when He entered the kingdom, he would be there.

We have to be mindful of the message that we send to people we have to remember all that we did before we arrived or have we? The scripture says God has dealt to every man a measure of Faith and it doesn't say how big it is or how little is and that's because we are all different. My faith level may be that I have so much Faith that God has me and will provide that rather than pay the mortgage if God lays it on my heart to sow that money into a ministry or to someone more in need that I will do it, where as my neighbor's faith level maybe that I trust Him but that is completely foolish. Well I can tell you I never stress about bills are money because I trust God that much, I remind Him whenever I am in lack that I am standing on His word that He would never leave nor forsake me. But there are some that say you are crazy, I may be but God said "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." 1 Cor. 1:21

So before we go slanging scriptures to prove just how much we know and how much others may not; remember God said His word Stands, which means He does not need our help or debate in trying to prove another wrong. We as children of God have to be willing to study to show ourselves approved knowing that no two of us will ever take the exact same thing away. For instance we are sitting in the same church on Sunday, and I can assure if you if the congregation is polled once the service is over, there will be some who can't tell you what the message was, but you will get from people what they took from the message and if you find two who took the same thing it will be amazing.

THE BEST GIFT

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

That's love, and that is the Greatest Love of All. On this day that was set aside in the name of love I want you each to take a look at your life and take inventory is there any greater love or gift than this? I am sure your significant other loves you, but would they really just lay down their lives for you, I am sure not without negotiation. The cards, that will be tossed to the side shortly are nice, the flowers that will wither and die soon, the chocolate candy that on tomorrow more than half of us will complain was nice but we didn't need. The over priced ill prepared dinner with not the best service is all nice. BUT THIS, is the best gift of all that God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, and that Jesus loved us so much that He laid down His life for you and me. That's love.

It's a love that gives every morning all day, no matter if you've been good or bad, if you have not been your best, if you have not lived and loved according to His word, everyday He keeps on loving you and me and giving us a chance to get it right. He loved us so much that even though He knew we would all fall short He still came hung, bled and died for us. He loved us so much that even though He knew that on today you would be struggling with whatever your issue is; He still gave us brand new mercy this morning and you don't have to try and savage it because you get new ones in the morning.

Remember this on today what ever gift you get or don't get none of them will mean as much as this, none of them cost what this cost, enjoy them but if you haven't already love on Jesus, because He is loving on you.

Today’s Truth
“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20 NIV).
Friend to Friend
I am always stunned when I hear someone say, “Well, I guess the only thing left to do is pray.” My goodness, I’ve even been shocked to hear the words come out of my own mouth. Prayer should never be seen as a last resort but as a first line of defense. No matter what condition your marriage is in today, prayer will make it better. God can make a bad marriage good and a good marriage great. God’s answers to prayer healed the sick, fed the hungry, stopped the rain, kept the earth from revolving on its axis for an hour, divided the Red Sea, poured forth water from a rock, opened wombs, confused enemies, opened jail doors, made leprous skin brand new, caused the lame to dance, gave courage to the fearful, and raised the dead. Jesus said, “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you,” (Matthew 17:20 NIV).
Have you noticed that it’s hard to stay mad at someone when you’re praying for him or her? Somehow walking into the throne room of God with a pack of anger and resentment strapped on your back doesn’t feel very comfortable. I’ve noticed when I’m angry at my husband, and I begin to pray for him (And I’m not talking “God help him when I get a hold of him” type prayers.) God begins to soften my heart. The Bible says that God is love and it is difficult to be in Love’s very presence and remain angry. Oh, you can stay mad, but it takes a lot of effort.
Sometimes it is hard to pray for our husbands when we’re mad at them. But God tells us to “pray for our enemies.” How much more should we pray for our God-given, lifelong mate!
I know there are many of you who are reading this devotion with anger or resentment in your hearts. You may be wondering, how did my marriage drift so far from where I hoped it would be? How did my marriage get to this state of desperation, mediocrity, frigidity, mutual tolerance, and co-existence? Is it too late for me? Is it too late for us?
Friend, the answer is no – it is not too late. I have good news for you. God’s specialty is resurrection. He excels at bringing life from death. In the Old Testament, there was a couple you may have heard of, Abraham and Sarah. When Sarah laughed at the angel who said she would have a child at ninety-years-old, the angel said, “Is anything too hard for God?”
The following year, the joke was on her. She had a baby boy and named him Isaac, which means laughter.
Nothing is too hard for God, my friend. Absolutely nothing. Jesus said, “All things are possible to him (or her) who believes” (Mark 9:23). A baby is born to a dried up womb, fingers and toes materialize on nubs on a leper’s hands and feet, sight is given to a man blind from birth, a son is raised right in the middle of his own funeral procession, and the Red Sea is parted and thousands walk across on dry land. Now, tell me, is there anything in your life too hard for a God like this?
Let’s Pray (Prayer for the married woman)
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for my marriage today. I pray that you will make me into the woman that You intended all along. Help me to see my husband through your eyes today – as a chosen, dearly loved, child of God.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Let’s Pray (Prayer for the single woman)
Dear Lord, everywhere I look, I see marriages that are in trouble. I pray for my sisters who have lost hope. I pray that You will restore their marriages. Help me to be the type of friend who encourages strong marriages and prays for those in trouble.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Now It’s Your Turn
Today, I’m giving you a list of Bible verses to pray for your husband from head to toe. This is your assignment for today…for always.
Lord, I pray for my husband, from head to toe:
His Head –That he will look to You as Lord of his life. (1 Corinthians 11:13)
His Mind - That he will have the mind of Christ and think as the Holy Spirit would lead him and not the flesh. (1 Corinthians 2:16)
His Eyes –That You will keep his eyes from temptation and that he will turn his eyes from sin. (Matthew 6:13, Mark 9:47)
His Ears - That he will hear Your still small voice instructing him. (1 Kings 19:12, Psalm 32:8)
His Mouth – That his words will be pleasing to You. (Psalm 19:14)
His Neck –That he will humble himself before You and be strong, courageous, and careful to do everything written in Your Word so that he will be prosperous and successful. (James 4:10, Joshua 1:8-9)
His Heart-That he will love and trust You with his whole heart. (Deuteronomy 6:5, Proverbs 3:5)
His Arms-That You will be his strength. (Psalm 73:26)
His Hands-That he will enjoy the work of his hands and see it as a gift from You. (Ecclesiastes 3:13, 5:19)
His feet – That You will order his steps and that he will walk in Your truth. (Proverbs 4:25, Psalm 26:3)

Today I Pray

Good morning all
Today I am praying and ask that each of you pray with me, on last night as the word hit that Whitney Houston had died at merely 48, the world went into shock, many started wondering the obvious was it the drugs. well I say to you at this point it's not important. What we need to know and remember is that tomorrow is not promised to any of us no matter the age. So today, I pray that we each stand in the gap for that loved one in our family who is struggling with an addiction, no matter what that addiction is, be it drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, gambling, shopping, cigarettes. Right now please join me in asking God to arrest and convict right now that addiction which holds our loves ones. Keep in mind that because you are standing in the gap it doesn't mean you have it all together it just means that God showed you mercy. People of God I pray that we each remember that because these people struggle with an addiction it doesn't mean they don't know Jesus some are even in church Sunday after Sunday but they have these issues. I pray for you and them and in turn I pray for me. I pray that I can help the persons I love with their struggles while I deal with my own issues as well. You see as long as we live we will encounter an issue. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not yet seen. Right now, I bind the addictions that our loves one struggle with, I declare and decree that they are loosed right now and set free. I declare and decree at this moment they realize that death doesn't have an age and they have but this moment to get it right. That they return to the families that love them that will pray and not judge. I pray that they get a new circle of friends and if the person is a family member that assist them in this addiction that they have the strength and sense to separate from that person. Dear God as I close this prayer, I lift up to you all my family members that struggle with an addiction and I lift up myself to you, God remind me and those of who are standing in the gap at this moment that we are merely testifying to the fact that with you all things are possible and we are not judging. I pray that each person as I reflect back on Whitney for just a moment and say that Whitney knew the Lord in the evidence of her songs , The Greatest Love of All, that she sang who do I go to when the world is sinking fast, I Go To the Rock, In her singing, I Love the Lord , she knew He pitied every groan. What I say is that Whitney's struggle is over, let her rest and now pray without ceasing and by giving your loved one who struggles to the Lord who loves them .

In Jesus most precious name Amen

Lord Help Me To Hold On

Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. Psalm 17:5

Every morning we get up start our days some of us stop to pray some of don't. Rather we pray or not we all take for granted that we will make it through the day. Most of who profess to be Chrisitians and love the Lord don't realize how important the above scripture is, you see Satan never takes a day off his goal is to always send something or someone to cause you to slip and fall. Let's be real while you are rushing through the house getting ready to go somewhere if you waste coffee on your white shirt more likely than not Oh Lord won't be what pops in your head, and it might for that but what about when you hit that big toe. I am going to be just real if I hit my toe I have to catch myself everytime because I almost slip and oh Lord is not what's about to come out of my mouth. But that's me you folk that were born saved and never sin don't have that problem.

So it's important that we ask God to order our steps, hold up our goings, and guard our hearts and tongues. Because the spirit is wlling the flesh well it gets weak. You're on your job and the day is going good rest assure the enemy is laying and waiting for the right person to send your way to trip you up. Well let's confuse him. Right now just start praising God for the good things He has done and worshipping Him for what He is about to do. Don't be scared Jesus has your back.

Now, if you are leaving your house today or maybe you left already I am declaring and decreeing this verse over you, that God will hold you on the right path so that you won't slip into temptation, that no danger will come near thee and that you will walk uprightly in the ways of our Lord and Saviour. If you find yourself falling just grab on to His hand and don't let go.

Keep this in mind we do stand in danger of falling to temptation. A fall like that is as devastating to the soul as a plunge from a high girder would be to our physical being. No matter how careful we try to be, we need someone to catch us when we stumble. God is that someone. He waits with open arms to catch His children when they fall. Rest easy in the knowledge that God guides your steps. He will protect those who put their trust in Him.

God Resurrected It

Today’s Truth
“So I prophesied as he [God] commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet-a vast army,” (Ezekiel 37:10 NIV).

So you have been faithful, you have endured and even when it looked like all hope was gone you held on and fainted not. Now God has done what He said He would do and out of the dead situation has come vast (many) blessings. Not just one blessing, God has rewarded you and it's harvest time.

We all face adversity rather it be with our children, in our finances, on our jobs, in our marriages, in our relationships with family and friends it's a part of the process. But know this that God has given you the ability to speak life into that situation. Speak to those dry bones, by the way if you can see the bones that means the situation has been dead long enough to decompose, it's passed stinking it's dry bones. No flesh, no sign of life, BUT GOD, I tell you. The scripture said I have done as you commanded me and breath has entered them. Right now is where you start shouting, because this thing is no longer dead. Shout even if you don't hear a rattle you can't hear bones rattle when they have taken on life. So go ahead praise Him. No that this thing has come to pass. No that the children are okay, the finances are fine, the jobs are there and your marriage and relationships are restored and brand new. Yes that's the kind of God we serve.

Out of your faithfulness and obedience came vast blessings. You ought to be excited right about now I know I am. You have the victory over the dead thing and no man can get credit for it, It's all good and it's all GOD.

God Can Resurrect It

Then he [God] said to me [Ezekiel], “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!’ This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD,’” (Ezekiel 37:4-6 NIV

Today you maybe thinking that all hope is lost and that things couldn't possibly be any worst or could they. I want you to know that there is hope. That God is a God of life and that He can resurrect anything. It's to hard for you, but it is just right for the Father. There are things we face and what we have to remember is that God allowed this thing, He allowed the child to be strung out, the finances to be lack, the eviction notice to be served, the spouse to be acting a fool or even the marriage to be broken, the illness to come. Yes He allowed it because your situation is going to be the one He uses to show the spectators and naysayers that He can breathe life into your dead, dry bone situation, give it new tendons, and flesh.

I just get chills when I think about how good God is and knowing that He is not a man. He is not concerned with what it looks like, He is not concerned about what others say. He will get the glory out of this. Now you have to do your part and that is have faith and faint not. Knowing that He is also an on time God. I had a neighbor years ago and I remember watching her face as the sheriff served her with the notice to vacate. I was sad, but she was smiling saying okay Jesus lets show them what you Got. She now lives in a 250,000.00 home. Yes, she lost the one that she was in that was meager compared to the one she has now. You see, they fell on hard times, and actually loosing the home having to move into valley allowed them to save, pay off everything they could file bankruptcy on the rest and start a fresh. I miss Ms. Pat so much because she never saw the negative she always saw the positive. She always saw God's hand in everything.

Today I encourage you to read this verse and know that God can and will resurrect it. Whatever it is He can breath new life into it all is not lost. You are not lost, dried up and no use to Him. He will get the glory and you and your situation are the stage He is playing this thing out on. So go ahead and shout. I'm going to be over here holding your mule.

Grow Through it and Go To It -Another Step In the Process

Scripture: What man is he that feareth the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that He chooses. Psalm 25:12

I know a lot of you are thinking God I thought 2012 was the year, I thought my breakthrough was coming. It's here you just have to grow through this part of the process and then go to your breakthrough. Your life changed at 11:59 p.m. on 12/31/11, if you want to know the truth. A lot of us haven't gotten there because we have a fear of the unknown we don't want to just step out on faith, we are still holding on the old, not because it's necessarily good for us, but because it's familiar to us. As people we will keep reliving and rehashing stuff that should and could be over if we would just trust God, grow and go trough the process. We just want the breakthrough, I am sorry sometimes the way God restores is not pretty, but the restoration happens. Sometimes, when God is taking you to a new level it means you have to leave your comfort zone and let go of somethings and people that have been with you all your life. Keep this in mind everybody is not destined to go with you.

Just because it seems like things may be a little harder, it doesn't mean you are not on your way. May I remind you Jesus was sent to save us, to give us the gift of eternal life, well in order to fulfill His plan and purpose He had to go through the garden, hang bleed and die on a cross, descend into hell and then rise again so that we can have it. In short nothing about this process was pretty, and it didn't always feel good, but His plan and purpose was fulfilled.

So stop letting fear stop you from getting to what God has for you. Trust that even though every step in this process may not be all roses and sunshine, the breakthrough is still going to be what God said it would be trust Him.

Clear the pathway. We have two main obstacles that hinder our discernment: sin in our life and our own strong desires about the situation. To receive the Lord’s guidance, we must repent of all known sin and make our desires secondary to His.

Exercise patience. Sometimes it takes a great deal of strength to stand still when everything within you is shouting, “Hurry! Time is running out!” But if you rush ahead of God, you may miss His will.

Persist in prayer. The Bible clearly instructs us to keep coming to the Lord with our concerns. As we continue to pray, He will gradually weed out anything confusing until we come to His conclusion about the matter.

Search the Scriptures. The Word of God has an answer for every need, and the Holy Spirit knows just how to point us in the right direction. I remember times while I was reading the Bible that a verse jumped off the page and supplied the exact answer I needed to make an important decision.

So often when we’re faced with a critical choice, all we want from the Lord is a quick answer. But He delights to meet with us in order to deepen our relationship with Him. Don’t let the urgency of your need keep you from enjoying the intimacy of His presence as you seek His will.

Physically Overweight and Spiritually Underweight

This woman at the well has been coming up a lot lately this Samaritan woman, another woman that God keeps giving me is the Sarah and the woman with the issue of blood. So in reading this today, I thought you know I don't think I ever caught this either about the food. What I did realize with each of these women they had trust issues, the Samaritan woman didn't know Jesus so was leery of trusting Him, Sarah doubted Him God so she wanted to help Him and even though she made a mess God still gave her Issac, (thanks sis for pointing that out) and this woman with the issue of blood, she heard what the doctors said or didn't say but her faith told her to press and all she needed to do was touch the hem of His garment not Him not hold His hand just the hem and she would be made whole. What faith?

Today get balanced it's time to close doors that need to be closed and trust God for everything else. Yes, it's time to be over somethings, a job that keeps you miserable, a relationship that keeps you miserable, going to a place of worship Sunday after Sunday leaving spiritually hungry as well as physically get your faith in Shape.

Now let me say this to the men that are reading g this this applies to you as well. Get balanced with God so He can use you.

Blessed to Be A Blessing,

"'My food,' said Jesus, 'is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.'" John 4:34 (NIV)

If you've attended many Christian women's events, you've probably heard the story of the Samaritan woman told from just about every possible angle. If I hear someone start to speak about her at a conference, I'll admit my brain begs me to tune out and daydream about tropical places or items I need to add to my grocery list.

It's not that I don't like her story. I do. It's just that I've heard it so many times I find myself doubting there could possibly be anything fresh left to say about it. But in all my years of hearing about the Samaritan woman, reading her story, and feeling like I know it, I missed something. Something really big.

Right smack dab in the middle of one of the longest recorded interactions Jesus has with a woman, He starts talking about food. Food! And I'd never picked up on it before. I somehow missed Jesus' crucial teaching that our bodies must have two kinds of nourishment: physical and spiritual.

Just as I must have physical food for my body to survive, I have to have spiritual food for my soul to thrive. Jesus says, "My food ... is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work" (John 4:34 NIV). And then he goes on to say, "I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest" (John 4:35b NIV).

There is a bigger plan here! Don't get distracted by physical food. Don't think physical food can satisfy the longing of your soul. Only Jesus can do this. Our souls were created to crave Him and love others to Him. So many people are waiting to hear the message of your calling. Don't get stuck in defeat and held back from it.

In the midst of offering salvation to the Samaritan woman, Jesus seems to wander off on this tangent about food. But it's not a tangent at all.
Actually, it fits perfectly. It relates directly to the core issue of spiritual malnutrition. Specifically, it's about trying to use food to fill not only the physical void of our stomachs but also the spiritual void of our souls. For years, I've been physically overweight but spiritually underweight. How crucial it is for us to remember:
Food can fill our stomachs but never our souls.
Possessions can fill our houses but never our hearts.
Sex can fill our nights but never our hunger for love.
Children can fill our days but never our identities.
Jesus wants us to know only He can fill us and truly satisfy us. He really wants us to really believe that.

Only by being filled with authentic soul food from Jesus—following Him and telling others about Him—will our souls ever be truly satisfied. And breaking free from consuming thoughts about food allows us to see and pursue our calling with more confidence and clarity.

Dear Lord, I know that it is true that only You can fill me. I acknowledge that You are the Lord of my life. I want to please You today in all that I do. Help me to follow You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
